CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper indicated in a 1993 interview with the Minneapolis Star Tribune that he wants to see the United States become a Muslim country.

It has been a bad week for the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). The group that has so successfully presented itself to law enforcement and media organizations as a Muslim civil rights group is seeing a radically different portrayal of its motives and goals coming to light in the Holy Land Foundation terror charity trial in Dallas. The Associated Press reported Monday that prosecutors in that trial have produced documents establishing that CAIR was part of the Muslim Brotherhood's Palestine Committee. This was a group led by Mousa Abu Marzook, who once served as chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau. CAIR co-founder Nihad Awad has been placed at a meeting of Hamas supporters -- which really shouldn't surprise anyone, since in 1994, the year CAIR was founded, Awad stated publicly, "I am in support of the Hamas movement."

CAIR Chairman Parvez Ahmed was dismissive, however, of the idea that CAIR had anything to do with Hamas. "That's one of those urban legends about CAIR. It's fed by the right-wing, pro-Israeli blogosphere."

A Christian legal group will represent citizens opposed to the planned launch of a publicly funded academy in New York City where students will be immersed in Islamic culture.

Khalil Gibran International Academy features several Islamist imams on its board of advisers, as well as other promoters with connections to militant Islamic groups, according to the Thomas More Law Center.

"This proposed public school is nothing more than an incubator for the radicalization that leads to terrorism, as an NYPD Intelligence Report warned Americans just two weeks ago," said Richard Thompson, president and chief counsel for legal group.

"Rather than use the public school system to assimilate Muslims and other immigrants into American culture, New York City is doing everything it can to keep them isolated – a target rich environment for recruiting potential new homegrown terrorists and a recipe for a future 9/11 disaster, according to my read of the NYPD Report," he said.

RAMALLAH – United States-run programs that train militias from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah organization have been utilized to kill Jews and were instrumental in the "success" of the Palestinian intifada that began in 2000, a senior Fatah militant trained by the U.S. told WND.

I do not think that the operations of the Palestinian resistance would have been so successful and would have killed more than 1,000 Israelis since 2000 and defeated the Israelis in Gaza without these [American] trainings," said Abu Yousuf, a senior officer of Abbas' Force 17 Presidential Guard unit in Ramallah.

The U.S. has long run training programs at a base in the West Bank city of Jericho for members of Force 17, which serves as de facto police units in the West Bank, and for the Palestinian Preventative Security Services, another major Fatah security force.

This weekend diplomatic security officials announced the State Department will begin training Force 17 again this year in an effort to bolster Abbas against Hamas, which took over the Gaza Strip in June when the terror group easily defeated U.S.-backed Fatah forces in the territory.

No one likes to see his dirty laundry and inner workings laundered in public, which may at least partially explain CAIR’s somewhat heated amicus brief in the Holy Land trial. FSM Contributing Editor Doug Farah elaborates.

There appears to be a virtual spider’s web of obfuscation and willful denial on the part of at least two Newsweek reporters on the subject of CAIR, the Holy Land Foundation and the Islamic Society of North America. FSM Contributing Editor Steve Emerson untangles this web of deceit.

The Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is reporting on its web-site: "...an Acid Bomb was thrown near worshipers outside an Arizona Mosque...a container of acid and a reactant was thrown out a car window and landed near an Iman and another Mosque..."

Glendale, AZ Police are reporting that a soda bottle filled with pool cleaner and foil strips was thrown towards the American Islamic Center and burst some 20-25 feet away from Iman Didmar Faja and another Mosque official, neither men were injured. "Calling it an acid bomb is kind of misleading...it was a plastic bottle with pool cleaner that expands and pops and squirts the pool acid. It's kind of like the Mentos (mints) and Coca-Cola thing you see on YouTube, the pressure mounts and it pops..." said Officer Matt Barnett
