Because Islam is always rife with secrecy and double meanings the word Jihad is used in many contexts.
In the U.S.A. it literally means "Waging war against the non-Muslim in the cause of Allah and his sole prophet Muhammad."
Muslims will tell you it means "struggle' and "constant striving" but that, too, is a lie. The struggle and striving are to overthrow the American system of government and our traditions by any and all means including the use of U.S. laws and the Constitution against America. Once the population of Muslims exceeds 2% the Jihad becomes violent and confrontational.
